Cross & Crown purchased a historic 1930s church building in Seattle’s University District with the hopes of transforming it into their own sanctuary and gathering space.
The Collaborative team reworked the floor plan to create a more useful layout including a entry/lobby space, living room, office space, storage space and bathrooms.
The building’s original brickwork and wood columns set the tone for the industrial aesthetic. Bathroom stalls were custom fabricated out of steel and reclaimed wood found in the building during demo—those same materials were used to create the accent wall in the lobby.
A second phase of the project is expected to be complete in 2018 and includes a new recording studio featuring 14.5’ vaulted ceilings.
